This is for 1/4 of the handpoured pizza and can be cut or left whole. Each side presents different colours, textures and reflectivity. As the molten glass comes into contact with the solid surface it is poured onto crystallisation occurs rapidly and certain minerals and oxides are drawn to contact surface resulting in unpredictable reactions. This is seen as an added attribute not as a flaw. The 1/4 pizzas can be cut using multiple methods such as a wheeled nipper, hammer and hardie or even a glass scorer and heavy duty runner.The cut side is the one traditionally displayed but in contemporary mosaic all sides may be utilised to create contrasting and harmonising surfaces. Each quarter pizza weighs between +/-530g-+/-570g.
