Byzantine Soft Stone

Made from cement powder combined ground dolomite and coloured with mineral oxides. This mixture is pressed at high pressure in a mould to form individual tiles that be cut with scissors or regular tile nippers and therefore perfect for children. Please note that using scissors gives a rougher more inaccurate cut. Available in 3 sizes 5mm and 10mm squares and 20x10mm rectangles. All tiles are approximately 4mm thick. They look like traditional stones used in Byzantine and Roman mosaics but without the difficulty of working with natural stone. These tiles are porous and can be sealed using a stone sealer or diluted pVa.
